because Thucydides was late with relief

for this he paid his native city
with lifelong exile

exiles of all times
know what price that is

praise their heroism and innocence

they accuse their subordinates
envious collegues
unfavourable winds

Thucydides says only
that he had seven ships
it was winter
and he sailed quickly

Jornada de Cultura Neo-helénica

O Centro de Estudos Clássicos da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa está a organizar uma Jornada de Cultura Neo-helénica. Como o nome indica, trata-se de um dia dedicado à cultura helénica dos dias de hoje. Nesta jornada serão contempladas a poesia, a língua grega moderna, o cinema grego e haverá, no final do dia, um espaço dedicado à música e à gastronomia. Mais informações aqui.

A professora catedrática Maria Helena da Rocha Pereira declarou-se hoje sensibilizada com o reconhecimento da importância do estudo da Antiguidade Clássica, ao receber o Prémio Vida Literária, da Associação Portuguesa de Escritores (APE) e Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD).
